Position
Chair of the corporate practice and Co-Chair of the M&A group. As a founding partner of the firm, he collaborates on matters with clients in Mexico City and oversees our office located in Merida, Yucatan.
Career
His practice focuses on Corporate and Commercial Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Real Estate Law, Financial Law, and Antitrust. He has actively represented domestic and international companies in cross-border transactions, including advising on the structuring and execution of joint ventures, private equity, and venture capital transactions across varied sectors, including the consumer industry, financial services, and retail. With a pragmatic approach, Alfonso provides tailored advice to both Mexican and foreign companies, specializing in corporate governance, investment structuring, and contracting across various sectors. His involvement in numerous mergers and acquisitions showcases his proficiency in corporate reorganization.
As a partner in the firm’s real estate group, Alfonso represents real estate developers, hospitality companies, private equity funds, and other investors in their real estate ventures. This includes helping industrial investors establish operations in Mexico and facilitating strategic joint ventures for the development and management of real estate assets in the country. He has also played a pivotal role in financial transactions, including corporate financing and syndicated loans, as well as activities in debt and capital markets.

Fluent in both Spanish and English, he is well-equipped to navigate the complexities of cross-border legal transactions.
