Counsel of the Life Sciences practice of Assembla, with additional capabilities on Administrative and Antitrust Law. She has more than 15 years of experience providing legal advice and representation to international and local companies in a wide range of industries.
Career
Mariana’s practice is mainly focused in pharmaceutical, medical devices and healthcare industries.
Before joining Assembla, Mariana served as Legal Senior Manager at Novartis México, drafting and negotiating complex contractual obligations of the company, and acting as business partner for day-to-day activities of multidisciplinary teams such as Government & Tenders, Public Affairs, Population Health, Patient Support Programs, among others. At Novartis, Mariana also was appointed ad interim Global Health Senior Manager, responsible of executing various non-for-profit collaborative projects and promoting ESG and D&I values. From her prior experience and professional formation, Mariana was Senior Associate of the antitrust practice at SAI Law & Economics for over 10 years, where she was acknowledged as Rising Star by Legal 500 Mexico and has gained significant peer recognition as antitrust expert.

Education
Mariana holds a law degree (JD/LL.B equivalent) from Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE) at Mexico City and an LL.M. in Law & Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, among other post-graduate degree diplomas and courses from reputed Mexican universities. Mariana is an active member of ANADE, a speaker at the ICC and INCAM Antitrust Diplomas, and has notably collaborated in promoting diversity policies in favor of women and the LGBT+ population within the workplace, as well with her clients

As part of her hobbies, Mariana loves traveling, sewing, gastronomy, film and quality time with her loved ones.
