Dr. Lopez-Silva, brings a wealth of expertise as a former Partner and Head of Healthcare & Life Sciences at Baker McKenzie Mexico. He specializes in regulatory, transactional and hybrid intellectual property issues across a broad range of health-related industries.

Christian regularly advises in relation to the manufacturing, import, distribution, advertising, labelling, commercialization and post-market vigilance of medicines, medical devices, food and beverages, cosmetics, seeds, veterinary products, chemicals, cannabis, alcohol and tobacco.

Christian has contributed to developing strategies that have shaped and protected the operations of major leaders in the pharma, medical device sector, making him a very visible player in the life sciences industries.

He pioneered the specialization in regulatory affairs in Mexico and has contributed to the consolidation of health regulation as an autonomous legal field. Christian is a regular speaker and author of several legal publications. He has taught in different universities (e.g. ELD, ITAM), at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

His commitment to the healthcare & life sciences industries has included engaging and actively participating with Medicine Associations and Academy, Chemists Associations, as well as promoting the creation of Health Committees in all major Bar Associations, and finally creating the Mexican Association of Health Law and Regulation.

Christian holds a Bachelors in Law from Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM), graduating with honors, as well as a Master’s Degree on Biotech Law & Ethics and a PhD on International Regulation of Life Sciences, from the University of Sheffield (UK).
