Andrzej Siwiec

Andrzej focuses on pharmaceutical and medical law as well as industrial property law and commercial law issues specific to the Life Sciences sector. He has been advising pharmaceutical companies and health care providers for a number of years. He participates in the work on legislative changes in pharmaceutical and reimbursement law. Andrzej advises clients on projects concerning marketing medicinal products, reimbursement processes, and contracts typical for the pharmaceutical market. He provides holistic support for complex interdisciplinary projects involving regulatory, reimbursement, industrial property, and competition law. These projects include European market access strategies for new medicinal products (including orphan drugs), products’ rights acquisition transactions covering several European countries, and strategies for entering the generic drug market from day 1 after the original product IP protection expires. He assists health care providers in their day-to-day operations. Andrzej also develops his expertise in the field of intellectual property disputes, both patent and trademark. He authored publications on medical and pharmaceutical law and is a valued speaker at Life Sciences events. Andrzej has been with DBS since 2016. He has served as a Partner since 2023.

Joanna Mączko-Forgiel

Joanna specializes in intellectual property law and competition law, especially in the context of the pharmaceutical industry. She supports companies in the protection of trademark rights, patents and copyrights, as well as handles IP aspects of transactions specific to the pharmaceutical sector. She prepares analyses and draft agreements on the transfer of intellectual property rights, license agreements and the ‘know-how’ of the enterprise. Joanna participates in the work on legislative changes in intellectual property law. She has many years of litigation experience, mainly in intellectual property disputes. She conducts pre-trial correspondence in the event of infringement or a threat of infringement of intellectual property rights. She represents clients in disputes on trademark protection, also concerning the validity of protection rights. For years, Joanna has been advising businesses, especially pharmaceutical companies, on the full spectrum of legal issues related to their activity. She also develops her capabilities in the area of pharmaceutical law. Joanna has been with DBS since 2015.

Marta Sroka-Maleta

Marta specializes in pharmaceutical law and intellectual property law. For over 15 years, she has been supporting entities from the pharmaceutical sector in the full spectrum of legal issues related to their business activities. Marta supports clients in such matters as: strategies for new product launches and implementation of new business models, also including regulatory requirements, reimbursement schemes, and intellectual property rights; business development projects, especially developing and negotiating contracts typical for the pharmaceutical industry, such as license, supply and distribution contracts; marketing authorization of medicinal products, reimbursement, parallel import and intervention import; inspections of supervisory authorities at wholesalers and manufacturing sites; preparing internal procedures for companies from the pharmaceutical sector; compliance audits; business activity of health care providers. She represents clients in court and administrative proceedings, such as: court proceedings on intellectual property, in particular, patent disputes and infringement of trademark protection rights, as well as competition law; administrative proceedings before regulatory and supervisory authorities.
