Wallis Crockford
Associate and Team Leader, Wallis Crockford leads the lower value claims team based in Cardiff.
Wallis deals with a wide range of complex clinical negligence claims, including those related to brain injury, orthopaedic injury, birth injury, oncology, and gynaecology.
Well respected amongst colleagues and peers for her meticulous attention to detail and client care, Wallis manages a diverse litigated caseload relating to adults with capacity, adults without capacity, and children.
In 2019 she was a top 3 finalist for the PIC Legal and AvMA Award for the Clinical Negligence Rising Star.
Aside from managing her team and her busy case load, Wallis is involved in many extracurricular activities both in house and externally. A proud member of the firm’s LGBTQ+ network, she regularly meets with other members to discuss ideas for positive action and change within the firm.
She regularly attends national Women in Leadership in Law round table meetings to drive positive change for women working in the legal industry and supports various charities. Her involvement in the latter has extended to presenting a talk to the Encephalitis Society, volunteering for Headway SW London, and fundraising with the Child Brain Injury Trust. She has represented our firm at the Cardiff University Law Fair to inform and encourage law students regarding a career in law and was a mentor for students at the University of Law.
Wallis regularly carries out training to junior members of her team to ensure that they are up-to-date with legislation and case law, to enable them to carry out their work to the very best of their ability. She also filmed a mock stocktake meeting of NHS Resolution’s internal training, as part of the strong relationship between Slater and Gordon and NHS Resolution where the two work together in the hope to conclude claims more swiftly and appropriately.
Wallis consistently demonstrates an outstanding degree of technical and commercial expertise through not just her client work but in her mentoring capacity.
