Jinrong Liu, the Managing Partner of Global Law office, is specialized in capital markets, M&A, PE/VC and taxation.

Jinrong Liu has advised on more than 150 equity and debt offerings on The Hong Kong Stock Exchange, NASDAQ, New York Stock Exchange, Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange. These transactions have covered a wide range of industries, including TMT, AI, biotech, healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, mining, power, real estate, banking, insurance, financial services, infrastructure,  consumer goods, shipping and environmental protection, etc.

Jinrong Liu has advised both Chinese and international companies on more than 2,500 cross-border M&A transactions, including, inter alia, ChemChina’s USD43 billion acquisition of Synenta (the largest outbound investment by Chinese companies); Sanonda’s RMB18.4 billion acquisition of all the shares of Adama; Zoomline’s attempted USD5 billion acquisition of Terex; China Merchants Expressway Network & Technology Holdings Co., Ltd. and other 5 listed companies USD688 million joint acquisition of 51% equity and shareholder loan of the Third Bridge and the Northern Marmara Motorway in Turkey; Jiangxi Copper Company Limited (600362:SH, 0358:HK) USD1.1159 billion acquisition of 124 million shares of First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (“FQM”, FM:TSX) ; IFC’s strategic investment in China Postal and Savings Bank; Khazanah NKhazanah Nasional Berhad’s strategic investment in China Huarong Asset Management Co., Ltd., China Resources Group and Beijing Municipal Government’s merger of pharmaceutical assets worth of about RMB50 billion; Tianjin Port Development’s HKD11.2 billion acquisition of the controlling interest of an A-share listed company via a share swap scheme; SAB Miller’s attempted HKD40 billion take-over of Harbin Brewery via a general offer on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Career

Jinrong Liu joined Global Law Office as a partner in 2002. Prior to joining Global, Jinrong Liu worked with Jingtian & Gongcheng in the areas of securities, M&A and FDI.
