Datin Shelina joined Abdullah Chan & Co as a partner in 2014; specialising in Aviation and Aerospace. As Legal Director in Air AsiaX, Datin Shelina worked across all spheres of aviation, with a particular focus on Aircraft and Engine Acquisitions, including Leasing and Financing, helping the Airline grow from 1 aircraft in 2007 to more than a dozen widebodies by end 2013. She is also experienced in Aviation / Airlines HR, Operations and Engineering contracting matters. From a Regulatory perspective, Datin Shelina was involved in various negotiations when opening new destinations in Australia, China, the United Kingdom, Japan and Korea. This included applications for air rights, air traffic negotiations, as well as station set-up (airport use agreements, catering, fueling, ground handling and airport / tourism incentives). In addition, Datin Shelina was the primary liaison representative for meetings with both Malaysian and International regulators - Civil Aviation authorities as well as Ministries and Departments of Transport.
