Anjuli Sivaramakrishnan

Managing Partner

Anjuli Sivaramakrishnan is a Corporate and Transactional Partner with a strong focus on banking and finance domain. She is renowned for her experience in joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions, commercial advisory and client negotiations. Her areas of practice include advice on establishment of a presence and structuring of investments into the UAE, corporate restructuring and labour & employment laws.

Anjuli specializes in advising on debt and equity investments including structured finance, cross border financing and project finance, syndicated loans, etc. She has hands on experience on regulatory and compliance matters including but not limited to due diligences and audits. She also regularly advises clients on applicability of labour legislations and handling different employment related issues.

Anjuli has substantial experience advising clients from diverse sectors such as automotive, aviation, energy, financial services, private equity, infrastructure, oil and gas, real estate and retail.

Janardhan Shetty

Senior Partner

In a rich and diversified professional experience spanning over 22 years in the UAE, Janardhan has advised numerous clients in the areas of general corporate, commercial laws, M&A and transactional matters, litigation & dispute resolution as well as employment law matters.

Prior to joining the Firm, Janardhan was the co-founder of a Dubai based legal consultancy firm and led its Corporate & Commercial practice for over 17 years. His previous stint also includes having worked in one of the leading national law firms in the UAE. Before moving to the UAE, Janardhan practiced litigation in the Bombay High Court for over 5 years.

Janardhan regularly advises multinational companies, leading business groups and companies in the UAE operating in such diverse sectors as retail, FMCG distribution, steel, healthcare, engineering, hotels, travel companies, pharmaceuticals, etc. concerning their legal matters in the UAE and in foreign jurisdictions.

His extensive transactional experience includes facilitating high-stake cross-border deals involving multiple jurisdictions. He also routinely advises clients on corporate, commercial and governance issues, shareholder disputes, debt recoveries and employment law matters including formulating related agreements and handling complaints and disputes in the Courts.
In his diverse litigation practice which includes commercial, corporate and civil litigation, Janardhan has successfully pursued or defended large claims before the UAE courts obtaining favorable verdicts for his clients.
Janardhan also has experience in handling intellectual property related work and related litigation, in the UAE and the other GCC countries.

Nikhat S. Khan

Armed with more than two decades of professional practice in litigation and arbitration, Nikhat plays a critical role for her diverse clients which include fortune 500 companies, large foreign and domestic conglomerates as well as medium to large privately held companies. She regulary advises on commercial, construction and IT related disputes and has represented general contractors and subcontractors, architects and engineers, project owners and developers, material suppliers, public and private agencies for EPC and infrastructure projects, educational and healthcare institutions, lenders, insurance companies and sureties.

Prior to her work experience of more than eighteen years in the UAE, she trained as a litigation lawyer for six years in the Bombay High Court. Her expertise and services include negotiation, mediation, arbitration (under ICC, DIAC, LCIA, DIFC-LCIA, SIAC, GAFTA, WIPO rules) as well as ad hoc arbitration under the UNCITRAL rules. Nikhat serves as an arbitrator and mediator and has been empanelled as a mediator in His Highness Sheikh Saeed Bin Ahmed Al Maktoum’s The Mediation Centre (TMC) and IIAM (India). She is also registered as DIFC Practitioner Part II.

Nikhat has been widely appreciated by the clients for her UAE legal acumen, proactive role in prevention of disputes and client servicing. She also plays a critical role for her clients, developing and executing clear legal strategies that support business profitability and global compliance.
