Position
Jin Nee is one of the founding partners of Wong Jin Nee & Teo; successfully represented clients against cyber-squatters through dispute resolutions filed with WIPO; has implemented antipiracy/brand protection programmes for various multinationals; very active in public policy and engagement work including lobbying for reform of IP laws and procurements; has advised clients on all aspects of commercial exploitation of IPRs, including negotiating and preparing manufacturing, ICT, franchise (including assisting clients in obtaining approval and securing registration under the Franchise Act 1998), licence and biotechnology agreements; has assisted clients in conducting audits to identify ownership and scope of their IPRs; advises clients in areas of ICT, digital integrity, cyber laws, e-commerce and media/entertainment laws. She has written numerous articles and chapters on IPRs and franchising published in various publications.
Career
Admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya and called to the Malaysian Bar in 1991; one of the founding partners of Wong Jin Nee & Teo etablished in 2005; registered patents, trade marks and industrial designs agent; past president of the Licensing Executives Society Malaysia (2000); former chair of the Bar Council IP Committee; former head of IPR Committee of the EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EU-MCCI); former executive member of the Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA); actively involved in various IP associations; one of the panelists appointed by Regional Centre for Arbitration KL for Malaysian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Service and Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre, Hong Kong; certified mediator on the panel of the Malaysian Mediation Centre; certified IP valuer in Malaysia.
