Career

Ms. Anushka Agarwal is an Associate in the Customs/International Trade (WTO) practice. He has extensive experience in International Trade Law and Policy issues and has provided assistance in matters concerning WTO-covered agreements, Foreign Trade Policy, Free Trade Agreements, Customs issues, issues concerning FSSAI and BIS, Legal Metrology etc.

She has drafted and represented various importers, exporters and foreign governments in a diverse range of legal matters, spanning from trade remedial investigations to customs issues, appearing before the CESTAT, High Courts and the Supreme Court of India. She has actively prepared appeals, writ petitions, as well as Importers, Users and Exporters Questionnaire Responses for various trade remedial investigations.

In addition to the above, Ms. Agarwal has advised on intricate bilateral trade issues including the revising of India’s export measures and clauses of production agreements in relation to fossil fuels and non-renewable energy under India’s Free Trade Agreements.

She had represented her university and qualified for semi-finals at the XXVth Stetson International Moot Court Competition wherein issues relating to trade and environment law were at play. Further, she has also won the XIIth GNLU International Moot Court Competition, 2020 held at Gujarat National Law University.

She has also attended the World Trade Institute, University of Bern, Switzerland (Summer Academy). She regularly pens on different contemporary topics in relation to international trade law and has written extensively on the panel reports of Indonesia – Chicken (Recourse to Article 21.5) and US – Softwood Lumber as part of her contributions to the WTO Boutery Blog: Talk Global Trade.
