ilaindia.comilaindia.comAbout
The firm: I.L.A. Pasrich & Company is a multi-practice commercial law firm that was founded as ‘International Law Affiliates’ by two partners in January 1998. The firm initially handled only international law, aviation, corporate and commercial work, but expanded leading to the establishment of a separate specialised litigation and dispute resolution practice under the name of ’Pasrich & Company’ in 2004. Expansion spurred the firm to move to its present classically designed offices integrating modern technology in the central business district of New Delhi at Connaught Place (opposite the Competition Commission of India). The firm thus came to be close to most of the major courts, with the Supreme Court and the Delhi High Court within a ten-minute radius. In 2012, both practices merged under the name of I.L.A. Pasrich & Company. In its 19-year history, the firm has acquired an international presence and its clients include several foreign governments (such as Canada, France, Greece, Singapore, Australia etc), the European Union, several multinational companies (such as EADS, G4S, Dell, Samsung, Cigna etc), international organisations (such as the German Academic Exchange Service – DAAD, the European Union’s Directorate-General for Humanitarian Aid – ECHO, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society) and several reputed Indian companies (such as Ashok Leyland, Mahindra & Mahindra, Fabindia, Crompton Greaves). The approach has been exhaustively client problem-based and ethical.
The firms’ advocates have represented clients throughout the country (over four dozen cities/towns of India) before several state high courts and district courts, with the support of various affiliate practices and associate lawyers, local attorneys and retainers. The firm has pursued several matters before the Supreme Court of India and has mostly procured favourable orders.
The firm has emerged as a leading firm for aviation and its related fields. It handled most of Delta Air Lines’ advisory and contentious legal work across India since 1998. The firm has been retained as general counsel for India to Turkish Airlines since 2011 and its other airline clients include Swiss International, Virgin Atlantic, American Airlines, Air France & KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Finnair and British Airways.
The firm’s managing partner, Mr Amir Singh Pasrich has been recognised in The 2016 Legal 500, 2016 Who’s Who Legal and the 2016 Chambers Asia. He was cited as having an ‘excellent reputation within the aviation industry’ with ’a solid airline client following’. He has been a Council Member of the International Bar Association’s Legal Practice Division.
