Areas of practice
Dispute resolution: The firm’s disputes practice comprises highly motivated lawyers who combine intellectual rigour with strategy and pragmatism to deliver legal solutions to its clients. Effectiveness and efficiency are its hallmark qualities. With its wealth of experience, this practice is frequently mandated to handle precedent setting matters. It is also well versed in the various arbitration rules published by leading arbitral bodies. Its lawyers contest both domestic and international arbitrations.
Insolvency, restructuring and investigations: The firm has a strong team of experienced practitioners who are capable of advising all types of stakeholders on the full spectrum of issues that arise from the implementation of judicial management/schemes of arrangement, liquidation of companies and complex cross-border restructuring and insolvencies, including related investigations that may arise.
Infrastructure and construction: The firm provides a range of legal support services to clients in the infrastructure and construction sectors. The nature of such services includes both transactional and dispute resolution services across most sectors of the construction industry. In this regard, our team has experience in providing end-to-end solutions from procurement, negotiation, contracting and project delivery to mediation, adjudication, arbitration and/or litigation
Corporate and commercial: The firm has experience in handling cross-border transactions and are no strangers to managing negotiations for clients at every step of the process. The team advises local and foreign investors in their commercial ventures, whether through collaboration, strategic alliances or joint ventures, acquisition of businesses and assets, and/or by way of franchise and licence agreements.
Insurance: The firm has a sizeable insurance practice group specialising in insurance litigation and advisory work. The team represents an extensive base of multi-national insurers and handle claims involving all classes of insurance and insurance related issues/disputes such as policy liability, subrogation and double insurance, public liability, product liability, personal injury, industrial all risk, professional indemnity, motor insurance, fidelity guarantees, performance bonds, contractors’ all risk, workmen’s compensation, business interruption, health and accident. It is the first law firm in Singapore to introduce the use of biomechanics experts in dealing with whiplash claims.
Real estate: The firm acts for corporations, public listed companies, statutory boards, financial institutions and property developers in the entire gamut of real estate work involving residential property, commercial complexes, industrial buildings, en-bloc sales and purchases, leases and real estate investment trusts.
Data protection: The firm’s data protection team provides support on a wide spectrum of services – from compliance with data protection laws to claims arising out of data breaches. The firm assists clients in the review of legal risks and policies, drafting documentation, assessing data breaches, formulating and implementing mitigation strategies, and drafting notifications to the data protection authority and affected individuals, if need be. The firm also provides bespoke data protection training programmes to its clients.
