She has acted for individual and corporate clients in a variety of contentious matters across a wide range of practice areas including commercial, shareholder and partnership disputes, corporate restructuring & insolvency, employment litigation / disputes, medical negligence / professional misconduct, and complex matrimonial litigation. Angelia has appeared at all levels of the Singapore Court as litigation counsel, and assisted in international commercial arbitration cases conducted under the rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre. In 2017, Angelia and Xiao Hongyu took part in the Essex Court Chambers / Singapore Academy of Law Moot Court Competition where they emerged quarter-finalists. Angelia’s notable cases including representing and advising :- One of the world’s leading manufacturers in the heating and cooling industry, in obtaining an urgent interlocutory injunction against its former employees in ongoing Singapore High Court proceedings involving inter alia claims for breach of confidence. A Singapore-incorporated mechanical engineering company and its Managing Director in a contractual dispute against a Singapore public-listed company, in claims exceeding S$10 million. One of the world’s largest chemical producers, in Singapore High Court proceedings against an iron-ore trading company based in Singapore for breaches of various circle-out/wash-out agreements, in SIAC arbitration in Singapore. Former-head of a prominent private equity firm based in Southeast Asia in claims against the firm arising from the partnership agreement, in SIAC arbitration in Singapore. A Singapore businessman in protracted matrimonial proceedings commenced by the wife in 2010, involving cross-border elements, including child relocation, jurisdiction disputes, anti-suit injunction and the enforcement of an antenuptial agreement signed by the parties in New York, U.S.A. and governed by the laws of New York. Former-head of a prominent private equity firm based in Southeast Asia in claims against the firm arising from the partnership agreement. The dispute was heard in the SIAC and concerned issues of good faith, contractual interpretation, agency under Cayman Islands law and other common law jurisdictions.
