Lyn founded Lake Legal in 2009.

Lyn is the Senior Partner of Lake Legal and Head of the Family Law Team.

Lyn is regarded as one of the most effective practitioners in family law in the North of England. She has been in practice for over 30 years and has invaluable experience in dealing with complex and high value financial settlements arising from divorce and separation. Lyn is a qualified collaborative lawyer and a qualified Family Law Arbitrator, one of only a handful in Yorkshire. She is a member of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and also conducts Private FDR hearings.

Lyn has represented a number of clients, or their partners, who appear in The Times’ Rich List. Lyn was the first family lawyer in Leeds to be ranked as a Star Individual by Chambers & Partners and maintains that recognition to date. She is also one of just three individuals listed in the 'Hall of Fame' in Legal 500. Legal 500 comments that she is “strong, extremely knowledgeable, pragmatic and devoted to her client's interests. She is committed to achieving a negotiated outcome, whilst being a person you would want on your team if that isn't achievable. She is a player on a truly national level.”  She is also described as “superb as a technical lawyer, negotiator and advisor to her clients whom she supports to her upmost whilst always being prepared to deliver bad news” and “truly excellent”.

Chambers describes her as a “true expert in her field in terms of technical knowledge which she combines with an ability to interact with clients in a way that instantly puts them at ease, which brings tremendous reassurance at very challenging times” and “just excellent, she's extremely pragmatic and a joy to have on the other side. She is the best lawyer in the region."
