The Freelancer model is not regulated in Pakistan and nor is there any case law on the subject. The work involved a detailed assessment of the existing systems of Food Panda in dealing with Freelancers and the option to convert the Freelancers into third party or direct employees. This is a unique set up where at times the algorithm may in fact be considered the employer. It is safe to say that contributing to this work has put us on the map with international law firms advising on the use of artificial intelligence and the regulatory regime for the same.
