Position

Practitioner with over 15 years' post qualification experience in criminal litigation.  Particular expertise in preparing complex and lengthy fraud cases.  Has recently worked on cases arising out of Operation Hilmar (an allegation of a large scale fraud arising from a failed property investment scheme where the majority of the investors were senior police officers and securing an acquittal on the basis of legal argument), Operation Cotton (representing the main defendant in the largest prosecution undertaken by the FCA), Operation Ryeland (£10 million boiler room ‘land-banking’ fraud), and Operation Boromo (the largest DWP investigation into large volume Tax Credit, Housing Benefit, National Insurance Number and Immigration Fraud).  Other notable cases include; R v Gillespie the largest prosecution for fake pharmaceuticals in Europe, Operation Exhort, the largest ‘cash for crash’ fraud prosecution in the UK,  R v H allegation of murder where manslaughter verdict returned.  R v P serious assault on a child acquittal secured on a nanny accused of shaking a baby causing head injuries.  Sharron regularly acts for individuals accused of sexual offences, including representing doctors and other medical practitioners accused of sexual assaults arising out of their professional duties.  She is currently representing a male accused of 14 separate offences of sexual assault against five separate complainants.
