Addleshaw Goddard expanded into Ireland through a merger with Dublin based law firm, Eugene F Collins on 1 March 2022. Through a single, enlarged firm our lawyers are responding even more comprehensively to client needs by offering legal coverage across the globe, increased practice and sector strength and more flexible resourcing to our clients. Banking: The banking team has a wealth of experience in all aspects of banking and finance transactions. The team acts for many leading banks, financial institutions and corporate borrowers, providing a full range of banking services from corporate lending to restructuring and recovery.

Corporate: The firm’s corporate department handles a full range of corporate transactional and advisory work for public and private companies and individuals across a broad spectrum of industry sectors. The team specialises in M&A, transfers of business, joint ventures, capital raising and investments.

Corporate recovery: The firm’s corporate recovery group advises on all aspects of corporate insolvency including liquidation, receiverships and corporate restructuring. The firm is consistently involved in high profile insolvency matters, having one of the top insolvency practices in the jurisdiction.

Dispute resolution: The dispute resolution team has a reputation for delivering results for its clients. The lawyers are well known for their experience in alternative forms of resolution including arbitration and mediation. Employment and employee benefits: The firm’s experienced employment group guides employers in the management of employment issues. The team works with clients to ensure effective human resources management and to meet the challenges presented by EU and domestic legislative developments and evolving employee relations and equality issues.

Environmental, waste and planning: The environmental, waste and planning team provides advice on all aspects of planning and environmental law and related areas including contaminated land liability and waste related matters. Clients are in many industry sectors which include wind, gas, oil, power, pharmaceutical, waste management, water services and property.

EU, competition and procurement: The EU, competition and procurement group works closely with clients to help them navigate the Irish and European competition, regulatory and public procurement regimes. This involves interacting with the Irish Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, the European Commission and other antitrust and regulatory authorities. The group handles both contentious and non-contentious matters and also advises on general EU law matters including free movement and trade.

Immigration: The firm is the preferred local counsel of many US and EMEA law firms and corporations and can provide a seamless service to multi-jurisdictional clients. The team works closely with the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Department of Justice and Equality, Department of Foreign Affairs and the Garda National Immigration Bureau to provide the best up to date advice to clients.

Information technology/intellectual property: The firm advises on a broad range of intellectual property matters including computer software protection, copyright, data protection, ecommerce/ internet law, trademark, registration/licensing, patent law, information technology. The firm has extensive experience in the telecommunications sector and has advised a number of international IT companies with interests in Ireland.

Media/broadcasting: Media group has long-standing expertise in the media sector representing a number of large broadcasting organisations, media groups and publications.
