James is a Partner in the Mourant Hong Kong Corporate and Funds practice. He specialises in investment funds with a focus on private equity and hedge funds. He also has experience advising on private mergers and acquisitions.

James's experience includes guiding clients through the initial set-up process, the launch of their fund, and then the ongoing operation and maintenance of their fund. He also advises on the establishment of joint venture structures, as well as the structuring and ongoing operation of partnerships and companies.

Before joining Mourant, James worked in the investment funds team at another offshore law firm in Hong Kong for a number of years. Prior to that, he trained and worked at Skadden in London, advising on public and private mergers and acquisitions.
