Career

OVERVIEW

I am a Partner in our Cayman litigation practice, specialising in commercial litigation and insolvency.

I have worked on the firm's most complex matters, including Primeo Fund's breach of contract claims against HSBC which involved two separate Privy Council hearings in 2021. I have also acted in insolvency disputes, cross-border liquidations and various fair value petitions including the Qunar and Sina Corporation matters.

Prior to joining Mourant in 2015, I practised as a barrister with Outer Temple Chambers in London.

WORK HIGHLIGHTS Primeo Fund v HSBC – acting for the liquidators in their claims against the administrator and custodian for breach of duty in relation to investments lost in the Madoff Ponzi scheme, establishing binding authority on issues such as reflective loss, limitation and contributory negligence. Porton – acting for the petitioner in its petition to restore companies on the basis that the voluntary liquidation process was impeached by fraud. Upper Brook – acting for the Libyan Investment Authority's subsidiaries in their successful opposition to an appeal brought by their former investment manager. Qunar - acting for dissenting shareholders in the substantive trial on fair value and consequential decision on the fair rate of interest. Changgang Dunxin Enterprise Company Limited – successful application by Hong Kong – appointed liquidators to transfer the liquidation to Cayman.
