Legal Director
Piers is a Partner with our Thames Valley team. He advises on employment issues including senior executive terminations, restrictive covenant disputes and business re-organisations. Piers is regarded as an expert in data protection issues insofar as they impact on HR/employment issues and frequently advises on data subject access requests for a wide range of corporate clients. He also heads up the Privacy team and advises clients on the implications of the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation.
Senior Associate
Sukhpal is an experienced employment lawyer who provides advice to a broad range of commercial and individual clients. His main area of expertise includes TUPE and he also has experience of advising on redundancy and the exit of senior level executives.
Recent employment experience includes:
Advising a major international IT business on the TUPE transfer of several hundred staff;
Advising a client in the financial services sector on how to deal with the threat of industrial action by a Trade Union;
Advising a corporate client on the termination of an executive director who was also a shareholder in the business; and
Advising a client in the financial services sector as to the termination of employment of an approved person for the purposes of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.
In addition to being an employment lawyer, Sukhpal is also a notary public and provides notarial and legalisation services.
Notarial work includes:
Advising companies and individuals as to the steps to take to ensure that documents requiring notarisation will be accepted in the receiving country;
Notarising various types of documents including powers of attorney, affidavits, statutory declarations and company and commercial documents; and
Acting for commercial clients including two of the largest cosmetics brands in the world as well as a major high street bank and various Plc’s.
Tina is the head of Doyle Clayton’s Thames Valley office. She is a highly regarded and experienced employment lawyer with particular expertise in discrimination and whistleblowing cases, senior executive exits, outsourcing and TUPE, restructuring and redundancy programmes.
She works predominately with corporate clients and regularly advises senior executives.
