Position

Ed's practice focuses on class actions, complex commercial litigation and securities litigation. He represents a broad spectrum of clients including financial institutions, fintech companies, manufacturers, retailers, and hospitality businesses. In recent years, Ed has been lead trial counsel in two trials in the Delaware Chancery Court and defended numerous class actions brought under the federal securities laws, the California Consumer Legal Remedies Act, the California Invasion of Privacy Act, and the federal Truth in Lending Act.

Career

Lead trial counsel representing the plaintiff in two trials in Delaware Chancery Court in a dispute arising from the de-SPAC merger of a technology company. The first trial resulted in a judgment removing trading restrictions from millions of shares of stock, allowing them to be sold for over USD 80 million. The second trial resulted in a judgment for USD 79 million in damages. Represented defendants in class actions alleging violations of California Invasion of Privacy Act. Defended an investment bank in class actions alleging violations of the Securities Act. Defended companies in litigation arising from mergers. Defended an electronics manufacturer in a class action alleging misrepresentations about the company's products. Defended fintech companies in class and individual actions. Represented a biotech company in a contract dispute. Represented several companies in connection with lease disputes arising from the Covid-19 pandemic.
