David Mongiovi

David joined the Firm in 2018 and has more than 8 years of experience as a tax attorney in Venezuela. He graduated at the top of his class from the Universidad Metropolitana (Caracas) and is attending tax postgraduate studies at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. David also has advanced postgraduate courses in oil and gas at the Universidad Metropolitana (Caracas) and in international taxation at the University of Leiden (the Netherlands).

Eugenio Hernández-Bretón

Dr. Eugenio Hernández-Bretón has been an attorney in the firm since 1981 and became partner in 1993. Eugenio is an elected member of the Venezuelan Academy of Political and Social Sciences, the Instituto Hispano Luso Americano de Derecho Internacional and the International Academy of Comparative Law. He has been recognized as a leading lawyer in energy and natural resources, international and domestic arbitration, and litigation by top legal directories including Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. He is a tenured law professor at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, Universidad Monteávila and Universidad Católica Andrés Bello. He holds a PhD from the University of Heidelberg and has authored of four books and more than three hundred articles.

Gabriel De Jesús

Gabriel de Jesús has been with the Firm since 1997 and became a partner in 2011. Héctor Martínez

Hector has more than 14 years of experience as an attorney in Venezuela. He has participated in legal assessment for important national and international companies. Manuel Marín

Manuel Marín has been with Baker McKenzie since 1998 and became partner in 2002. Prior to joining the Firm, he served as chief attorney of the tax division of Legislación Económica, and held varios management positions in the Venezuelan Customs and Tax Administration (SENIAT). Manuel has authored and co-authored various key publications and has spoken extensively in several customs and tax seminars and conferences. He has been a trade and customs professor in the advanced program for counseling and tax administration at the Universidad Metropolitana (UNIMET), and has given extension courses in the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), the Universidad Católica Andres Bello (UCAB), and the Escuela Nacional de Administración y Hacienda Pública (ENAHP).

María Eugenia Salazar-Furiati

Maria Eugenia Salazar has more than 15 years of experience and became partner in 2010; her main areas of expertise are: data privacy and cyber security, telecoms, energy and investment protection and arbitration. María-Fernanda Uzcátegui

María-Fernanda Uzcátegui has been a member of the Firm since 2018 and she is part of the practice groups of Corporate Law (M&A/PE), Banking & Finance and Tax. Ronald Evans

Ronald Evans is managing partner in Venezuela, and chairs the Firm's Global Wealth Management practice group as well as the Tax Practice in Venezuela. He represents Latin America in the Firm's Tax Policy Group, and is highly recommended by various legal directories. He was the first chief of the Venezuelan tax administration’s (SENIAT) international affairs division, and served as Venezuela’s official negotiator for double taxation treaties from 1994 to1996. Ronald was an advisor to the minister of foreign affairs on double taxation issues from 1997 to 1999. He has chaired the Venezuelan branch of the International Fiscal Association since 2007, and is a member of STEP’s Advisory Committee for Latin America.
