Mark Baldwin practices primarily in the areas of complex commercial, corporate, and environmental litigation. During his career, he has tried over one hundred jury and bench trials. As litigation counsel, he represents some of the country's largest corporations, as well as their officers, directors and shareholder. Mark has substantial experience in representing private equity firms and their portfolio companies throughout the country, including matters concerning securities fraud, contractual indemnification claims, earn-outs, post-closing adjustments, escrow disputes, customer disputes, and environmental issues. In addition, Mark has defended several large corporations and financial institutions against class action claims and shareholder derivative suits; these actions have included claims based on alleged violations of the federal securities laws, products liability claims, and environmental and toxic tort issues. Mark also represents health care providers in actions asserting claims for fraud, mismanagement and corporate misconduct. He has successfully prosecuted and defended a number of appeals in the State of Connecticut, the Second and Seventh Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Thomas Phillips is chair of the Firm’s Global Real Estate Leasing Practice Group and has been practicing commercial real estate and land use law for over 30 years. Tom advises owners, developers, landlords, tenants, lenders, and investors in a variety of property acquisitions/sales, leases, development and permitting projects, debt and equity financings, workouts/restructurings, and other sophisticated real estate transactions. While his practice spans all asset classes, he has particular experience working with retail, leisure, hospitality and mixed-use properties. He is the current chair of the ICSC (formerly International Council of Shopping Centers) Legal Advisory Council and a past ICSC state director. Tom has for many years been recognized in Chambers USA and The Legal 500 US and has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the fields of Real Estate Law and Land Use and Zoning Law. Clients have commented to Chambers that he “provides great market knowledge and can handle large, complex projects” and that he is “the consummate professional and extremely knowledgeable about the industry.” Prior to joining Brown Rudnick, Tom was a partner in the Boston law firm of Hutchins, Wheeler & Dittmar, where he served as chair of the Real Estate Department.

Thomas Regan is practice group leader of the Firm’s Real Estate and Energy, Regulatory, and Environmental Practice Groups. Tom practices in the areas of real estate, energy, telecommunications, land use, health care, and administrative law. Tom represents major corporations, private developers, institutions, and not-for-profits in the development, leasing, and financing of commercial real estate projects and energy and telecommunications facilities. He also represents national clients on permitting, administrative law, and real estate litigation matters. Tom is recognized by The Legal 500 US and The Best Lawyers in America for Real Estate. He was recognized by Best Lawyers in America as "Lawyer of the Year" for Litigation - Real Estate in 2016 and 2020. Tom served as the senior vice president of economic development and governmental affairs for the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, where he was responsible for the leadership and management of those departments. Tom also has extensive experience in legislative and public affairs.
