Career

Agustina Rodríguez has represented clients in important construction, energy and corporate disputes, both at court and in national and international arbitrations.

Her recent experience includes advising the chief contractor for a combined cycle power plant on ICC and related judicial proceedings, and a Colombia telecom company on a CIAC proceeding.

She has broad experience in banking litigation. Since 2013 she has been a member of the team defending international financial institutions in over 50 claims deriving from the 2002 bank crisis in Uruguay, for an amount exceeding 1.6 billion dollars.

She regularly advises banks, insurers, builders, agribusiness and industrial firms. She advises clients on arbitrations and matters under international procedural laws such as applicable jurisdiction, arbitration clauses and recognition of foreign awards and judgments. She also advises on disputes related to insolvency matters and international commercial law.

As a practice allied with her litigious activity, she has developed her knowledge in the area of Private International Law.  She is an assistant professor in Private International Law at Universidad de Montevideo (Uruguay).

In 2018 she participated in the program organized by the Academy for American and International Law of Southwestern Institute for International and Comparative Law. In the same year she participated in The Hague Academy of Private International Law.
