In 1997, well-established firms Kilpatrick & Cody in Atlanta and Petree Stockton in Winston-Salem merged to form Kilpatrick Stockton. In 2011, Kilpatrick Stockton and Townsend and Townsend and Crew merged to form Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, expanding our reach in technology and inextricably linking our history with the evolution of technology in the US and around the world. The Stockholm office was established in 2001. Areas of practice
Banking and finance: the firm advises Swedish and international borrowers in a variety of real estate financing transactions and debt restructurings.

Capital markets and compliance: the firm assists issuers, investors and other participants on the capital market in connection with prospectuses and offering documents, contacts with the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority, shareholders’ meetings, corporate governance, communications and reporting obligations and incentive schemes. We also advise clients in compliance issues and among other matters assist with drafting policies in the field of anti-money laundering, anti-corruption and conflicts of interest.

Commercial agreements: the firm and its experienced lawyers provide advice on general commercial issues including marketing law, distribution and agency agreements and other contractual work.

Commercial rental law: we provide legal advice regarding all issues related to commercial rental law and property management, as well as ground lease agreements, possessory rights and easements. We represent Swedish and international real estate owners and funds in leasing tribunals and public courts in connection with lease disputes and other matters.

Construction and infrastructure: the firm’s construction and infrastructure practice is highly regarded and its lawyers have experience of virtually every type of construction project, including plants, tunnels, hospitals, office buildings, sports arenas, schools, hotels and residential projects. The lawyers represent all segments of the construction industry from owners, public and private, to general contractors, real estate developers, design and engineering firms and contractors.

Labor and employment: our labor and employment team provides integrated service and counsel throughout all areas of labor legislation, always seeking pragmatic solutions benefiting our clients’ business goals. Our team brings extensive labor and employment experience, including concluding employment contracts and consultancy agreements; managing intangible assets against employees and consultants; designing incentive programs for key personnel; as well as handling business transfers, relocations, collective redundancies, trade unions negotiations, compliance and compliance reviews, and occupational health and safety issues. We also provide extensive, strategic guidance around labor law disputes, especially in disputes where employees acted unfairly or started competing activities.

M&A and corporate: our corporate team represents Swedish and international clients within all areas of mergers and acquisitions and corporate law. We work with private and public companies, as well as startups and already well-established companies. Our extensive experience helping clients throughout the business transfer process includes the startup and planning phase, due diligence processes sometimes involving other advisers, and the establishment and negotiation of transaction agreements relevant in the transfer of business. Our ability to quickly switch between different negotiation strategies allows us to meet client expectations and negotiate from a position of strength.

Public procurement: our public procurement team advises contracting authorities and entities, as well as Swedish and foreign suppliers throughout the procurement lifecycle – from initial stages to any court proceedings and contractual matters.
