Alejandra Vidaurre Tugues
Alejandra is an Associate who graduated from the Universidad de los Andes in 2017. Throughout her time at the university, she was the instructor of the course “Legislation and Public Policies” and took elective classes focused on International Law, Commercial Law, Environmental Law, and Labor Law. During her legal practice in Penitentiary Law, she advised the indigenous population deprived of liberty in state prison establishments and the post-convicted population on issues of resocialization. Additionally, since she began her career with the firm, she has assisted national and international clients of Muñoz Tamayo & Asociados in matters related to Sports, Labor and Commercial Law. In 2021 she completed her studies in Labor Law at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and since that same year she became a member of the National College of Labor Lawyers.
Daniel Cardona
Daniel is a Senior Associate for the Firm. He started at MTA as an Intern from 2012 to 2013, and then became a Junior Associate in 2014. Then, from 2014 to 2015 he was working at the Posse Herrera Ruíz law firm where he served as Junior Associate to return to MTA in 2016 and hold the position of Associate focusing mainly on Sports Law matter. During his time as an Associate. In 2019, he was appointed as Secretary General of the DIMAYOR where he was the leader of the legal area. In 2020, he was appointed as acting President of the institution, leading the renegotiations of the agreements with the licensee of the television rights of the competitions, the main sponsors and suppliers, within the framework of the effects of COVID-19. Finally, in August 2021, Daniel is once again part of the MTA, occupying the position of Senior Associate, to work, first-hand, with the corporate and sports teams.
Diego  Muñoz Tamayo
Diego is the Founding Partner of the Firm. Since founding the leading Bogotá Law firm in 1995, Diego Muñoz Tamayo has played a leading role in the field of public sector privatizations in Colombia, envisioning pioneering strategies to resolve challenges in uncharted areas. Developing a practice that focuses on corporate transactional business law, he is recognized for his exceptional talent in putting together complex deals, and his acumen when advising clients on strategic business negotiations. He has also participated in landmark cases in the health sector, arbitration and finance law. For over 7 years, Diego was a Law Professor at the Universidad de los Andes, one of the country’s top universities, where he taught courses on Foreign Exchange Regulations, Negotiating Foreign Investment and External Debt, and International Contracts. Diego is known for his multicultural skills, capacity to bridge complex M&A transactions, ability to structure challenging project finance, and extensive experience in privatization. When people say that Diego Muñoz Tamayo “wrote the book” on privatizations in Colombia, they’re not lying. Published in Bogotá in 2004, “Privatization in Colombia: The Legal Framework for the Transfer of State Property,” remains the most important doctrinal source on the topic today. He has also published many articles on the financial sector and on topics such as Colombia’s foreign debt and judicial and procedural aspects of public credit in Colombia.
Felipe Trias Visbal
Felipe is Partner for the Firm. Few have had the exposure to the Colombian financial sector that Felipe has had in the last 30 years. Having joined Colombia’s largest private financial institution, he began gathering extraordinary first-hand experience in both legal and practical operational issues. His work experience includes: • Banco Andino, Judicial Vice President and General Secretary, 1992-1995; • Fiduandino S.A., Legal Representative, 1991-1992; • Banco de Colombia S.A., Director of the Legal Division, 1986-1991; • Banco Sudameris Colombia S.A., General Secretary and Secretary of the Board of Directors, 1982-1986. After 20 years in the financial sector he joined Muñoz Tamayo & Asociados, where he has worked for more than 10 years.
Joe Bonilla Gálvez
Joe is Partner for the Firm in the areas of Labour & Employment and Sports Law.  Associate in Muñoz Tamayo & Asociados since 2004; paralegal services 1996-2002. From courier service to being administrative manager of MTA and a virtuous labor lawyer. Joe Bonilla is a successful story, an example of merit and dedication and also one of support and interest from MTA in the development of the career of its employees in the firm. Joe Bonilla has worked in important businesses such as the establishment of the Marriot hotels in Colombia or the transfer of employees from Ecogas to TGI S.A ESP. His experience includes legal counsel to PDVSA, the Venezuelan oil company when it expanded its operations and was required to train employees in Colombia. His special interest and passion for sports took him to be the co-author of the document that later became the Law 221 of 2005, which establishes the minimum parameters for the contracts between professional athletes and their sport clubs. Also, he has advised several international sport clubs that seek Colombian players. He has been a consultant for national and international clubs, businessmen, players and directors in Colombia in soccer, sports and labor law matters, such as Azul & Blanco Millonarios F.C. S.A., América de Cali S.A., Club Deportivo Popular Junior F.C. S.A., Chelsea Football Club, Associação Chapecoense de Futebol, Santa Fé and the Atlanta Braves. Specifically, he supports the process of the linking of players to clubs, execution of sport transfer contracts, transfer of image and media rights, advertisement, and even the termination of the bond with players. Also, has been advisor in the execution of contracts for intermediation, collaboration, sports insurances, manage and exploitation of sports facilities. Additionally, he makes the defense of the clubs and players in disciplinary proceedings in national and international tournaments and the procedures before the constitutional, labor, civil jurisdictions and arbitration in sports, labor and doping matters. He has been a speaker in sport and labor law matters in Colombia and Chile, in some Colombian universities, such as Universidad de los Andes, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Universidad Sergio Arboleda and Pontifica Universidad Católica of Chile. In addition, he has been an author in different opinion columns referring to sports and labor law matters in publications such as El Tiempo, Portafolio, Ámbito Jurídico, El Deportivo among others.
Juanita  Esguerra Jaramillo
Juanita is a Senior Associate for the Firm. She has been part of the corporate and public law team since 2022.​She has more than 10 years of experience, working in the public and private sector, in legal areas of national and multinational companies, in positions such as Legal Advisor and Senior Lawyer.​  She has extensive knowledge in Corporate Governance, General Secretariat, development of contractual processes, definition of legal schemes for the implementation of new products, management of national and international clients and structuring of corporate policies.​Juanita has a global, analytical, critical and strategic thinking that supports the development of projects or business plans with regional scope.
Silvia María Méndez Parodi
Silvia is a Director for the Firm. She has worked with law firms, companies and governmental entities in issues involving local and International Environmental Law, Government Procurement, Trade, Infrastructure and Mining. Her experience includes working with the International Affairs Office of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development as an advisor in environmental and trade related issues. She has also worked as a consultant on various infrastructure, mining and hydrocarbon projects to solve the legal concerns of national and foreign companies in environmental and social matters, such as prior consultation, environmental licenses, environmental permits, environmental and administrative regulation, and international environmental issues. When not working with Muñoz Tamayo & Asociados, Silvia also teaches Environmental Law at Universidad del Rosario and the Law School of Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where she co-directs the Center of Environmental Law Studies.
