Anna Maleva-Otto

Anna Maleva-Otto is a London-based partner in the Investment Management Regulatory & Compliance Group at Schulte Roth & Zabel. She concentrates her practice on a range of UK financial services regulatory matters, including the impact of EU directives and regulations. Anna advises on all aspects of the establishment and operation of FCA-regulated businesses in the United Kingdom, as well as trading on UK and EU markets. Anna frequently participates in industry working groups in connection with new and emerging regulatory initiatives, and has advised asset managers on several key pieces of recent EU legislation (including GDPR, Short Selling Regulation, AIFMD, MiFID II, MAR, EMIR, SFTR and Securitisation Regulation). Anna also frequently assists clients with the design of their compliance policies and procedures, internal investigations and staff training. Anna is listed in The Legal 500 UK as a “Recommended” lawyer in Financial Services: Non-Contentious Regulatory. Jim McNally

Jim McNally is a corporate and funds partner in Schulte Roth & Zabel’s London office. He focuses on fundraising, corporate and transactional matters for private equity and other alternative investment funds, as well as transactional matters for internationally active corporate clients. Jim’s experience includes structuring private equity and venture capital funds; and structuring acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures with respect to interests in a wide range of asset classes including acquiring, divesting and demerging investment management businesses and interests therein, as well as advising activists on strategy and execution of European campaigns.

Nick Fagge

Nick Fagge is a London-based partner in the Tax Group at Schulte Roth & Zabel. He principally advises investment management clients on the structuring of UK management companies, covering all relevant partnership and tax issues. Nick also advises more widely on UK and international tax issues relating to the taxation of private investment funds, their UK investors and managers. Nick is a Chartered Tax Adviser and associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, the leading body in the UK for taxation professionals dealing with all aspects of taxation. He is also a member of the Tax Committee of the Alternative Investment Management Association. Nick has written and spoken on UK, EU and international tax issues for various publications and engagements, particularly in regards to how changes in tax codes and regulations affect hedge funds and their UK managers. Recently, Nick co-authored the UK chapter in the Chambers Alternative Funds Guide 2019 — a guide examining key industry trends and tax and regulatory matters impacting funds, managers and investors.
