Work Department

Katie is a Principal Associate in our Financial Services team. She advises clients on a wide range of regulatory and compliance issues relating to authorised funds under the FCA rules. Her experience includes advising clients on how to comply with AIFMD, UCITS V, MiFID II and the outcomes of the FCA’s Asset Management Market Study. She also advises on the authorisation of new funds (including ACS and PAIF structures), variations to existing fund specifications, mergers, re-constructions and fund terminations. She has experience of corporate transactions in the financial services sector. In recent years she has developed a focus on authorised funds investing in more unusual and illiquid asset classes (including real estate). She is a member of the Investment Association’s LTAF working group and was named as one of the “Rising Stars of Legal Services” by Financial News in 2023. Her recent experience includes leading the Eversheds Sutherland team on the launch of the Aviva Long Term Asset Fund (LTAF), the first LTAF to launch fully seeded (with a portfolio of £1.5 billion in directly and indirectly held property assets). The deal lead to the team being short listed at the British Legal Awards for Regulatory Team of the Year.
