Inês Albuquerque e Castro

Inês Albuquerque e Castro joined FCB in 2015 and became a Partner in 2017, where she coordinates the Employment, Benefits and Pensions Department. Inês has over 20 years of experience in the employment and social security area, advising the legal departments and/or the HR departments of several domestic and international companies from different sectors, on a regular basis. Her practice predominantly consists in participating in the labour law issues that arise in collective recruitment processes, restructuring, collective dismissals, transfers of undertakings and other forms of business reorganization. She also advocates for her corporate clients in litigation processes for several labour matters and assists and defends such clients in disciplinary and misdemeanour proceedings against labour authorities. She was involved in the preparation, drafting and publication of the 2003 Labour Code. She is a regular speaker at conferences, seminars and workshops about Labour Law.

Rodrigo Almeida Dias joined FCB in 1997 and became a Partner in 2006. He coordinates the Banking and Capital Markets Department and co-heads the Corporate, Commercial and M&A Department. Bruno Arez Martins joined FCB in 2009 and became a Partner in 2019. He works in the Tax Department. His practice is primarily tax law, with a special focus on tax litigation proceedings, in the administrative and judicial stage, domestic and international tax planning, advising in direct and indirect taxes, property tax, special consumer taxes and criminal and tax liability of members of corporate bodies. Rodrigo Barbosa Souto joined FCB in 2005 and became a Partner in 2017. He works on the Angola Desk, having a vast experience in the Angolan jurisdiction (with a special focus on real estate and international practice). Diogo Bernardo Monteiro

Diogo Bernardo Monteiro

Diogo Bernardo Monteiro joined FCB in 2000 and became a Partner in 2009, where he coordinates the Tax Department. He develops most of his activity in tax consultancy and litigation and international and domestic tax planning, in the Portuguese, Angolan and Mozambican jurisdictions. He is an experienced tax lawyer very active in providing tax advice to the clients at every stage of transactions, on all aspects of domestic and international tax, in co-ordination with the other practice areas, providing tax-related advice as part of an integrated service, as well as direct advice to the clients. This has led to his recognition and recommendation in several international legal directories. In 2014, he was appointed to the Corporate Income Tax Reform Monitoring Committee by the Secretary of State for Tax Affairs.

Sofia Ferreira Enriquez

Sofia Ferreira Enriquez joined FCB in 2020 as a Coordinating Associate, assuming the coordination of the Insurance and the Transportation Law Departments. With 20 years of experience, she has developed her practice in the sectors of Insurance, Maritime Law and Transportation, Contracts, International Trade, Regulation, Compliance and Life Sciences, representing leading companies in the national and international markets. She has represented several entities in both new projects, contracts and negotiation,as well as in lawsuits, misdemeanour litigation and arbitration or inregulatory matters. She has contributed with proposals for legislative procedures organized by the World Bank and she was a teacher in several workshops. Sofia has a master’s degree in Legal Sciences – Maritime Law by the Lisbon University Law School, where she taught different matters for nine years and where she still teaches, occasionally, in Post-Graduation Courses.

Miguel Lorena Brito joined FCB in 2002 and became a Partner in 2007. He co-coordinates the Public, Administrative and Environmental Law and the Real Estate, Property and Constructions. He develops a significant part of his work to public procurement and public contracts, urban planning, environmental matters, expropriations, and administrative litigation. João Osório de Castro joined FCB in 2005 as a Trainee Lawyer, becoming an Associate Lawyer in 2009 and a Partner in 2019. He works in the Corporate, Commercial and M&A Department, also developing his practice in the Energy and Natural Resources Department and the Angola Desk. He has over 15 years of experience and develops his work predominantly in Corporate, cross-border M&A and Commercial Contracts, on behalf of clients from technology, energy, and mobility sectors. João Robles

João Robles joined FCB in 2002 and became a Partner in 2015, where he coordinates the Angola Desk. Developing his professional career in the Corporate, Commercial and M&A Department, he has also a vast experience in the Real Estate sector, for Portugal and Angola’s jurisdictions. During the last 10 years, João has been deeply involved in the Oil & Gas sector, not just in assisting oil operators but also providing legal counsel to the service providers in the oil industry, especially in the Angolan jurisdiction. As responsible for the Angola Desk, João has an in-depth knowledge in practice areas that include commercial and M&A, Real Estate and Construction in that country, which has led to his recognition and recommendation in several international legal directories.
Margarida Roda Santos

Margarida Roda Santos

Margarida Roda Santos joined FCB in 2005 and became a Partner in 2017. She coordinates the Life Sciences and the Intellectual Property Departments, where her team handles the full scope of IP matters, with extensive experience on IT, Data Protection and IP Litigation – both for the Portuguese jurisdiction and abroad (namely Angola and Mozambique) – as well as Life Science matters, including all regulatory aspects related to Medicines, Medical Devises and Cosmetics.  She also develops part of her work integrated in the Corporate, Commercial and M&A Department, where she leads the Consumer and Advertising Law practice since 2005. Paula Teixeira da Cruz is a Partner at FCB, joining the firm in 2006. She co-coordinates the Public, Administrative and Environmental Law Department, developing her work in this area, including Administrative Law, Public Law, Regulatory Law, Corporate Law, Urbanisation, Public Markets, Competition, Energy, Telecommunications, Waters, Waste, Environmental, Dispute Resolution and Arbitration. Paula was an advisor for the Portuguese Government multiple times. She was also a member of the Superior Council of Magistrates, of the General Council of the Portuguese Bar Association and of the Superior Council of the Public Ministry. During her time as Minister of Justice, she implemented a group of measures to reform the Portuguese judicial system that was generally praised by the IFM and the European Commission.
