Henry is a legal director in our tax group. He specialises in the taxation of the real estate sector and has broad knowledge of and experience in: direct taxes, SDLT, VAT, capital allowances and the construction industry scheme.

Henry has advised a number of high-profile clients in a number of different areas within the real estate sector: institutional investors, PE houses, commercial and residential developers, real estate fund vehicles, such as REITs, PAIFs and unit trusts, and tax underwriters. His advice ranges from cross-border structuring of portfolio transactions (asset and corporate) to financial restructuring to landlord and tenant matters.

His recent experience includes: VAT structuring in the senior living sector; advising on high-profile property indirect property transactions in the context of new tax regimes for non-residents; and providing comprehensive tax advice on large place-making schemes.

He has edited the stamp sections of "Ray on Partnerships" and is regularly involved in consultations on tax changes affecting the real estate sector.
