Clare is a partner in our commerical team and is a consumer finance specialist. Clare advises clients on compliance with all aspects of the consumer credit act and the conc sourcebook of the fca’s handbook, as well as associated consumer protection legislation. She works with a wide range of clients including retail banks, credit card issuers, short term lenders, asset finance providers, brokers and debt collection businesses. Her work with clients relates to all retail finance products including loans, credit cards, overdrafts and current accounts as well as asset finance products. She advises on all aspects of lenders interactions with customers including origination issues, marketing and distribution issues, credit documentation drafting and post contractual obligations including compliance with statements and notices requirements. She has considerable experience in advising clients on remediation projects as well as the regulatory aspects of transactions including portfolio sales and securitisations.
