Alex specialises in financing transactions across the energy sector, with a cross-border/emerging markets focus.

He has advised on over US$ 50 billion of debt transactions across a large number of CEE and emerging market jurisdictions.  His experience includes acting for funders (senior, mezzanine, multi-laterals. credit insurers etc) as well as for borrowers and sponsors (funds and PE houses).  He has experience of working across a number of business sectors, including oil & gas (including petrochemicals), power (CCGTs, geothermal, hydro, solar and wind), infrastructure, telecoms, real estate, hotels & leisure and the like.

Notable deals include acting for LOTOS on the USD 2.85 billion upgrade and extension of its Gdansk oil refinery, co-advising the senior lenders on the restructuring of the approx. EUR 1 billion facilities of the BorsodChem group, as well as acting on the three recent RBL deals to reach financial close in CEE.Prior to becoming a lawyer, Alex worked in the City as an investment banker and has an MBA (finance) from City University Business School (CUBS).
