Thomas Meyrick

Tom is an Associate in our Pensions Team. He advises on all aspects of pensions law and has experience of acting on both private and public sector matters on a wide range of scheme types.

Tom regularly acts in relation to both DB and DC schemes. His recent DB experience includes acting for an employer on a wholesale scheme rules re-write and advising both trustees and employers on a wide range of scheme related issues, while his DC experience includes advising trustees on their roles and obligations under the new pension flexibilities, including rule reviews and amendments, benefit classification, disclosure obligations and providing advice in relation to the new charge cap.

Tom also advises on the pensions aspects of a range of corporate transactions. Examples of recent matters include advising on issues raised by the existence a DB SSAS in a takeover and advising in relation to a private equity backed management buyout containing complex Fair Deal and Beckmann issues.

Tom has been a speaker at a number of seminars for the Birmingham pensions community and is an associate member of the Association of Pension Lawyers.
