Aaron Mulcahy

Aaron is a partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's Dublin office.  He advises on a wide variety of legal and regulatory issues facing Irish domiciled collective investment schemes (CIS) and has particular expertise in the establishment, operation and regulation of all types of Irish CIS, including UCITS and AIFs.   Aaron's expertise also extends to the establishment and operation of Irish regulated AIFMs, UCITS management companies, "mega-ManCos", MiFID investment firms and unregulated 1907 Act limited partnership and SPV structures. His practice also covers the governance, cross-border distribution and management of such entities into and out of Ireland, as well as the impact of wider regulatory initiatives such as compliance with the SFDR and the Taxonomy Regulation.

Adam Donoghue

Adam is a partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's London office.  He heads the Irish team in the firm's London office, where he primarily advises UK and European asset managers on the structuring, establishment and operation of Irish fund products. Adam has broad experience advising on a wide spectrum of Irish regulated UCITS and AIFs with a particular focus on the alternatives space, including hedge funds, liquid and private credit funds, private equity funds, managed account platforms, direct lending/ loan origination funds, real asset/ infrastructure funds and master-feeder structures. He has advised on all types of Irish fund vehicles including ICAVs, unit trusts, CCFs, investment companies, and most recently he advised on the very first investment limited partnership (ILP) to be authorised by the Central Bank under the revised legislative framework. Alan O'Sullivan

Alan is a partner in the firm's Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. Alan specialises in banking litigation, lender enforcement (particularly receivership), insolvency and restructuring, shareholder disputes and commercial property matters. Alan acts for financial institutions, insolvency practitioners, private equity funds, bondholders, wealth management firms and property holding companies. Alan has extensive experience in litigating matters in the Irish Superior Courts particularly the Commercial Court and Court of Appeal. Alan also specialises in alternative dispute resolution including in particular mediation and arbitration.

Alma is a partner of Maples and Calder's Banking team in the Maples Group's Dublin office. Andrew is head of Maples and Calder's Tax team and is based in the Maples Group's Dublin office. He is an acknowledged leader in Irish and international tax and advises companies, investment funds, banks and family offices on Ireland's international tax offerings. Andrew is a member of the Dublin office Management Committee.

Aoife McDonagh

Aoife is a partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's Dublin office.  She acts for a wide range of funds and service providers and has extensive experience in advising on the establishment, authorisation and operation of all types of Irish investment funds, in particular, UCITS and QIAIFs.  Aoife also works with fund service providers in connection with depositary, administration and other service agreements. In addition, Aoife has experience in advising both lenders and borrowers on fund financing transactions.

Brian Clarke

Brian is a partner of Maples and Calder's Dispute Resolution & Insolvency team in the Maples Group's Dublin office. Brian has extensive experience advising both domestic and multinational clients on large and complex commercial disputes, including proceedings before the Commercial Court, as well as all forms of arbitration.  He also has experience of different forms of alternative dispute resolution and has represented clients in mediation, conciliation, adjudication and expert determination procedures.

Caitriona Carty

Caitriona is a partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's Dublin office. She advises on the establishment, operation and regulation of a wide spectrum of UCITS and AIFMD funds, with extensive experience in managed account platforms, closed-ended structures, alternative UCITS, LQIAIFs and other specialised fund products. Callaghan Kennedy

Callaghan is a partner of Maples and Calder's Finance team in the Maples Group's Dublin office. Callaghan advises arrangers, managers, investors and issuers on a wide range of finance, debt capital markets and structured finance transactions. He focuses particularly on structured products, such as CLOs and other asset backed securitisations, commodities, utilities, marketplace lending and other alternative asset class financings, as well as on repackagings and other programme issuers. Claire is head of Maples and Calder's Data, Commercial & Technology team in the Maples Group's Dublin office. Claire is a leading adviser on data, technology and commercial contracts.  She has a particular focus on GDPR compliance and investigations, emerging technologies and complex sourcing projects.  Claire also regularly advises on the technology, IP and data aspects of joint ventures and mergers & acquisitions. Claire’s recent data experience includes advising on GDPR compliance, data transfers, data protection complaints and investigations and data breach management across all sectors including, in particular, financial services and technology.  She has advised on a wide range of commercial contracts including IT contracts and major outsourcings in the financial services sector, intellectual property transfers and licensing, software development, distribution and R&D agreements.

Lorna Smith is a Partner in the Irish Financial Services Regulatory team at Maples and Calder, the Maples Group's law firm. Lorna has over 10 years' experience in financial services regulation, and in addition to more traditional industries like banking, insurance and investment services, Lorna’s practice also focuses on growth sectors such as fintech, alternative lending and sustainable finance. Lorna guides new financial institutions establishing in Ireland, across all industry sectors including MiFID investment firms and fund service providers, banks, insurers, e-money and payment firms, and credit servicing and retail credit firms. Peter Stapleton
