Ana is an of counsel in Maples and Calder's Finance team in the Maples Group's London office. She advises on both BVI and Cayman Islands law on a wide range of finance transactions including structured finance and securitisations, project finance, capital markets and fund finance. She has significant expertise in private equity, venture capital and fund finance transactions and was a recipient of the Rising Star Award by the Fund Finance Association. Ana has also developed strong experience in the Latin American market having represented clients throughout Latin America from round financings to high-profile transactions, including IPOs and project finance transactions.

Harjit Kaur

Harjit is head of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's London office. She specialises in the establishment and maintenance of all kinds of alternative investment funds in the Cayman Islands. She advises numerous leading European fund managers and their onshore counsel on the formation, ongoing legal and regulatory compliance, restructuring and termination of different types of Cayman Islands investment vehicles, including hedge funds, hybrid funds and private equity funds. Harjit also regularly advises clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions, including shareholder arrangements and regulatory matters such as AML, FATCA and CRS compliance, and Cayman economic substance requirements.

Heidi De Vries

Heidi is Managing Partner of Maples and Calder, in the Maples Group's London office. Heidi works closely with hedge fund managers, private equity houses and their onshore counsel in the hedge fund and private equity sectors. She advises on both Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands law and specialises in the structuring, formation, ongoing maintenance and restructuring of hedge funds and private equity funds, representing large financial institutions as well as boutique and start-up managers.

Jack Marriott

Jack is head of Maples and Calder's Corporate team in the Maples Group's London office. He specialises in corporate matters, including advising financial institutions and public and private businesses on a full range of corporate transactions. His extensive experience includes IPOs, particularly special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) on NYSE / NASDAQ, Euronext (Amsterdam) and London Stock Exchange. He also acts on public and private M&A, joint ventures, buyouts, restructurings, debt financings and security arrangements as well as management incentive structures. Jack’s expertise also covers investment funds, and he is head of our Process Agency Services team in London.

Jonathan Caulton

Jonathan is head of Maples and Calder's Finance team in the Maples Group's London office. He has extensive experience in international capital markets, banking, fund financing, aircraft financing (including co-investment platforms with private equity investors and aircraft portfolio securitisations) and structured finance (including securitisation, structured fund products, derivatives, repackagings and CLOs) as well as listing securities on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange. He represents both borrowers and large bank syndicates on lending transactions and all types of secured transactions. Jonathan also advises a large number of financial institutions on derivatives and issues surrounding collateral and netting in the context of insolvency in the Cayman Islands. He also has considerable expertise in all aspects of establishing and maintaining closed and open-ended hedge funds and private equity funds in the form of corporate entities, limited partnerships and segregated portfolio companies.

Luke Stockdale

Luke is a partner of Maples and Calder's Dispute Resolution & Insolvency team in the Maples Group's London office. He has a broad range of experience in commercial litigation, arbitration and restructuring and insolvency matters, with a particular emphasis on complex and multi-jurisdictional cases. Luke also has considerable experience in banking and finance and investment fund disputes, company law and trust disputes and regularly advises financial institutions, investors and insolvency practitioners on contentious matters and insolvencies.

Matthew Gilbert

Matthew is a partner in the Maples Group's London office and chairs the Global Real Estate Finance Group. He advises on finance, banking and corporate law matters involving BVI and Cayman Islands companies and partnerships, including public and private mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, partnerships and joint ventures, debt and equity financings, and project, real estate and asset financings as well as fund finance. Matthew specialises in the listing of BVI and Cayman Islands companies on international stock exchanges, including the London Stock Exchange / AIM, NASDAQ, NYSE and Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. He has acted for the issuer on a number of special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) IPOs in the US and UK, and SPAC business combinations. Matthew also advises on BVI insurance, compliance and regulatory law, and regularly contributes to industry journals, including PLC, International Corporate Rescue, Captive Review and FINalternatives.

Robert Hughes

Rob is a partner in Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's London office. He has broad experience advising in the area of investment funds, in particular the establishment and maintenance of hedge funds, mutual funds and private funds in the Cayman Islands. He also advises on the restructuring and regulatory aspects of different types of Cayman Islands investment vehicles.
