Career

Jorge has given conferences for various associations and chambers of commerce in the fields of labor and constitutional law.

He was a recipient of the 2011 Pro Bono Award from the Mexican Bar Association for his dedication to serving the community in labor and employment matters.

Jorge has extensive experience in labor law (both collective and individual), employment, and social security law. He is a trial lawyer as well as a strategist and counselor.

He served as a Professor of Social Security Law at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City (1985-1986), Collective Labor Law and Labor Procedural Law at Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City (1988-1990), and Collective Labor Law at Universidad Iberoamericana (1991-2010).

Jorge holds a Master's degree from Dickinson School of Law, Pennsylvania State University, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, USA, in Comparative Jurisprudence, with a thesis entitled "Conflicts of Law, Jurisdiction, and Mexican Law."

Jorge has been a member of the board of directors of the Barra Mexicana (Mexican Bar Association) for various periods of time.

He is also a member of the Ilustre y Nacional Colegio de Abogados de México (Illustrious and National College of Lawyers of Mexico), the Asociación Nacional de Abogados de Empresa (National Association of In-house Counsel), the American Bar Association, and the Federación Interamericana de Abogados (Inter-American Bar Association) (FIA).

Jorge is a member of the board of directors of FIA and serves as President of the Labor and Social Security Law Committee.

He was President of the Inter-American Bar Association from 2008 through 2009.

Jorge is an active member of the labor and employment law committees in all of the above-mentioned associations.

He also coordinated the labor, employment, and social security committee of the Mexican Bar Association.

Education

Jorge obtained his Law Degree from Universidad Iberoamericana.

He is the author of the professional thesis titled "Los Conflictos Colectivos de Titularidad" (Collective Disputes on Union Certification) in 1986.

Jorge obtained a Master's degree in "Comparative Jurisprudence" from Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, USA.

He is also the author of the Master's thesis titled "Conflicts of Law, Jurisdiction, and Mexican Law" in 1988.
