Career

Juan Carlos is a lawyer with over 20 years of experience in Intellectual Property, Administrative Litigation, Amparo, and Foreign Trade practice, he currently serves as a Senior Partner in the firm. He leads the Intellectual Property Litigation practice and the Trademarks and Copyrights practice.

Juan Carlos represents clients in global Intellectual Property and commercial strategies, having handled over 500 litigation cases for both national and international clients.

He is an active member of the Asociación Mexicana para la Protección de la Propiedad Intelectual (AMPPI), where he serves as the President of the Committee on Controversial Matters. Additionally, he holds a role as the President of the Controversial Matters Committee of the Intellectual Property Commission of the Mexican Chapter within the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). Juan Carlos is also affiliated with the Barra Mexicana Colegio de Abogados (BMA). Furthermore, he is a member of the International Trademark Law and Practice Committee within the Intellectual Property Owners (IPO) organization. In addition, Juan Carlos is a member of the Trademark Administrators Committee within the International Trademark Association (INTA). Lastly, he is associated with the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).

Juan Carlos has been invited to participate in various national and international forums on Intellectual Property (IP) and administrative matters. He has contributed to different national and foreign associations by providing insights related to the legal framework of IP. Additionally, he has received invitations from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Japan Patent Attorneys Association (JPAA) to speak as a lecturer in Tokyo and Osaka. In these events, he shared his expertise on the Mexican Procedural Practice in seminars organized by these Japanese entities.
