Position

Gerardo is Partner in Uhthoff and has more than 23 years of experience in Intellectual Property. He joined Uhthoff, Gomez Vega & Uhthoff in 2001 and for several years oversaw the office in Guadalajara, where he served the legal needs of domestic and foreign companies. Since he finished his Master Degree studies in Chicago, he has been collaborating in the main office in Mexico City, where he advises domestic and foreign clients in trademarks, including the management, strategic planning, and defense of local and global trademark portfolios.

Career

As Member of INTA has been member of committees such as Non-traditional Marks and Famous and well-known marks; and he is known for publishing several papers in Intellectual Property in different magazines.

Education

He received his Law Degree from Universidad Panamericana, campus Guadalajara (Mexico) and holds graduate studies in Contracts and Corporate Law from the same institution. In 2008 he obtained a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Degree with Honors from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law (formerly John Marshall Law School) in Chicago, where he complemented his studies in a local Law Firm.
