On February 27th, 2017, Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, announced the completion of its combination with Costa Rica-based Mu?oz Global, making it the first global law firm to have a footprint across Central America. The combined firm is known as Dentons Mu?oz.
The Panama office is managed by Gisela Alvarez de Porras, a leader in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and international finance, including vast experience advising in multijurisdictional transactions. Gisela has held several positions in the Executive Cabinet (2004-2009); including Director General of the Internal Revenue Service, Vice-Minister of Finance in the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Minister of Trade and Industry.
The Panama office joined Dentons Mu?oz officially on February 28th, 2017 with a solid team of talented legal professionals. Ana Lucrecia Tovar de Zarak joined the Firm on March 22nd, 2017 as a partner, and her addition strengthens the Firm’s Banking, Capital Markets and International Finance practices.
On January 2018 Fernando Aued joined the firm as partner and head of the litigation practice. Fernando’s litigation and dispute resolution experience covers civil, commercial, and administrative litigation, commercial arbitration, as well as maritime litigation.

We provide rule of law based government procurement advice. We represent the Inter-American Development Bank in designing the Alliance for Prosperity Fund, the largest mixed-capital fund in the history of Central America to develop strategic infrastructure in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.
Employment
Through ongoing preventive advice, we balance employer and employee interests, advance the Rule of Law principle, deal with employee protectionism in Central America, understand and deal with the particularities of labor law in each Central American jurisdiction.
