Career

Andy joined Reddie & Grose in November 2019, having qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2009 and a Chartered UK Patent Attorney in 2017. Additionally, Andy is also a Chartered Mechanical Engineer (since 1999), having worked as an engineer in the nuclear industry prior to becoming a patent attorney.

Andy has worked as an in-house attorney in the private and public sectors. In his previous role, Andy was an in-house attorney for GE for 8 years, during which time he supported GE’s Aviation business and managed their European & UK patent portfolios. Andy possesses experience in patent prosecution and drafting, as well as advising on cross-border inventions and related issues. Additionally, Andy has also enjoyed success in advocating in European opposition proceedings in defence of client patents.

During his time as a patent attorney, Andy has handled technologies which have included turbine engines and related sub-systems, aircraft landing gear and other aircraft systems, materials, nuclear power generation, oil & gas, plus products & processes related to the manufacturing of metal packaging.
