Position

Carina is an Attorney at Law and joined Maucher Jenkins as an Associate in November 2023 to work in our London and Freiburg offices.

Career

Carina provides comprehensive advice in the entire field of intellectual property law with a particular focus on disputes in the field of trademark law in the practice areas of IT, software, AI and media. She also advises on copyright law, design law, unfair competition and domain names. She has particular expertise in the field of intellectual property infringement in connection with digitalisation, social media and online platforms. She represents national and international clients before the German civil courts and handles international proceedings in cooperation with colleagues working abroad. A special focus is on trademark law cases before the European Trademark Office. Carina's field of expertise also regularly includes the drafting and negotiation of licensing and cooperation agreements.

Carina studied law at the University of Freiburg with a focus on intellectual property law. Here, she focused on legal issues relating to infringements of intellectual property on the internet and on digital platforms. After her studies, she completed her legal preparatory service at the Higher Regional Court of Freiburg with stations in the legal department of eBay in Berlin and in the field of trademark and design law at a leading German commercial law firm. Carina was able to gain valuable experience in a Berlin boutique law firm specialising in intellectual property law and digitalisation before obtaining the international title Master of Laws in the field of intellectual property at Queen Mary University in London. Through her master's degree, she was able to further specialise her expertise in the field of international intellectual property law and focus on the latest legal developments in the fields of digitalisation and AI.
