Position

Holly is a Partner in the Patents team and a Chartered Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney and Registered Representative before the Unified Patent Court.

Career

Holly has a wide range of experience in patent matters, but especially enjoys inventions with mathematical content, such as signal processing, image processing, coding, classification, including Artificial Intelligence.

During her career, Holly has handled a wide variety of technical fields, in drafting and worldwide prosecution of patent applications, and related matters, such as prior art and infringement advice, together with competitor analysis.

This includes patent matters for a number of significant direct clients located around the world, including the United States, Japan, the UK and elsewhere in Europe. She has significant experience in developing a patent portfolio relating to the MPEG 7 standard (multimedia content description standard), much of it relating to inventions involving complex mathematical techniques.

As a mathematician, Holly especially enjoys and excels at the analysis, abstraction and problem-solving aspects of being a patent attorney.

Holly served on the EPI council, and she is the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion officer for Maucher Jenkins. Holly is also the partner specifically responsible for the patent records department, continually working on improving efficiencies and keeping costs down while meeting client expectations.

Holly enjoys cycling, outdoor swimming and embroidery.
