She frequently represents guardians, parents, and competent children who have parted company with their guardians. Since being called to the bar in 2011, Gill has built on twenty years of experience as a children’s specialist solicitor to develop a strong practice.
Career
Seen as quietly determined, Gill is a forward thinker and has a firm presence in Coram’s children and international practice teams. A skilled negotiator, Gill is highly experienced in high-conflict and complex private law cases as well as the full range of public law children work, and has developed her practice as a confident and effective advocate for clients of all backgrounds.
Gill previously worked at Cafcass Legal, a small team of lawyers who represent children in complex High Court litigation, in tandem with the specialist High Court Team guardians. She also acted as Advocate to the Court, and appeared for separately represented guardians in public law proceedings. She also provided legal advice on a duty basis to Cafcass officers nationally about all aspects of their work. Prior to that she was a freelance advocate, and was on the Children Panel from 1992.
