Civil Litigation -

Michael has considerable experience in dealing with all forms of personal injury litigation arising out of road traffic accidents, employers’ and occupiers’ liability disputes as well as in clinical negligence settings. He has dealt with cases of high value in excess of £1 million pounds and has been led in larger and more complex claims. He is regularly instructed in cases of permanent injury and considerable future loss. He also has experience of claims involving the CICA and MIB.

Michael has a broad range of experience of civil procedural matters including cases involving the Road Traffic Protocol, CPR 36 and other costs arguments as well as disclosure issues. He is frequently instructed in contractual disputes and other general areas of civil litigation including credit hire claims.

Inquests - Michael has dealt with inquests both with and without a jury and has experience dealing with arguments relating to Article2 inquests and neglect.

Police Law - Michael regularly deals with actions against the police, predominantly acting for the police in claims both with and without a jury. He has experience of dealing with administrative claims against the police and acted as a junior in the case of R v The City of Salford Magistrates Court ex parte Hookway involving the period a suspect may remain on bail without charge.
