Atlantic Chambers is a large multidisciplinary set of barristers, regulated by the Bar Standards Board. With members at all levels of experience and seniority covering a broad spectrum of areas of law, including Chancery & Commercial, Civil Litigation, Clinical Negligence Criminal, Employment, Family, Industrial Disease, Insolvency, Inquests, Mediation, Police Law, Proceeds of Crime and Public Law.  We also have Government Legal panel Counsel.  Our clerking and administrative teams give superlative quality support and are flexible and accommodating in order to meet your requirements.

We are proud of our history, including distinguished past members such as the current Senior Presiding Judge for England and Wales, Lord Justice Edis, and the recent past President of the Queen's Bench Division, Sir Brian Leveson, who conducted the Leveson Inquiry into the Press in 2012.

Atlantic Chambers is located at the heart of the city’s transformed legal and commercial district, a stone’s throw from the Queen Elizabeth II Law Courts and our world famous iconic waterfront.

Chambers offer extensive facilities in an ever-changing landscape, accommodating remote legal hearings, conferences, mediation, joint settlement meetings and video link meetings.

WORK UNDERTAKEN

Chancery and Commercial - a team of experience practitioners encompassing specialist work within the jurisdiction of the Business and Property Courts of England and Wales including property, landlord & tenant, insolvency, company, and partnership, commercial, tax and trusts and probate.

Civil Litigation - providing extensive knowledge of advising, drafting and advocacy.  The team are prepared to appear in all courts in England and Wales, at every stage.  We have specialists in all aspects of personal injury work industrial disease, occupational illness, credit hire, professional negligence, clinical negligence, educational law, judicial review, insurance law, contract law and common law.

Clinical Negligence - experienced members embrace the complexity of law in these cases alongside in-depth knowledge of medicine across all disciplines including obstetric, orthopaedic, surgical, and neurological, general practice, psychiatry, emergency services and dentistry.  The team can deal with high value and multi-party claim and can provide a service to both Law Society and AvMa Panel Solicitors along with the increasing numbers of non-panel solicitors handling clinical negligence cases funded on a CFA basis.

Crime - with specialist practitioners available to assist in all areas of crime.  They are available to both prosecute and defend in publicly funded and privately funded matters at all levels.

Employment - the team advise and represent a broad range of employers and employees and are regularly instructed by a full range of clients, Corporate Bodies, Unions, Public Authorities, NHS Trusts and Professional Partnerships.

Family - a specialist team offers the highest quality of expertise in all areas of family law.  With an unrivalled breadth of experience at all levels of the Family Court, High Court, Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court.  All members offer the highest standards of written and oral advocacy at every stage covering public and private children law and financial relief matters.

Industrial Disease - teams members have experience advising, drafting and advocacy in all areas of occupational illness and disease cases.

Inquests - a dedicated team can assist in advising and representing bereaved families and other interested parties in inquests.  Covering all aspects of coronial law, they act on behalf of a wide range of organisations and individuals.  Offering expertise in representing police forces in inquests where a death has followed police contact.  other specialisms include clinical negligence, industrial disease, and regulatory work.

Mediation - we offer a specialist mediation service with a small, dedicated team of qualified mediators.

Police Law - experienced members provide advice, drafting and advocacy. This entails all non-criminal aspects of police law, including civil trials (with or without a jury) for unlawful detention, false imprisonment, assault/battery, misfeasance in public office, malicious prosecution and negligence, misconduct and disciplinary matters, personal injury claims involving police officers, inquests and inquiries, judicial review and operational policing policy,

Proceeds of Crime - this team focuses on various specialisms of chambers - Criminal Law, Family Law, Civil Litigation, and Chancery & Commercial Law 0 upon the interdisciplinary subject of the proceeds of crime.

Public Law - Atlantic Chambers offers significant strength in Judicial Review and Tribunal work as part of its comprehensive public law capability.  The Public Law team provides the special expertise required for Judicial Review and Tribunal cases ad the high standards of service and experience needed by Solicitors acting both for claimants and on behalf of public bodies such as local authorities, police authorities and NHS Trusts.
