Civil Litigation -
Mark has specialised in Employers’ Liability litigation for a number of years and acts on claims on behalf of many leading solicitors firms. Mark has managed a considerable case load on behalf of such solicitors and provides a comprehensive service of advice, drafting and advocacy. Mark has considerable experience in advising and acting at trials in claims involving the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and the Work at Height Regulations 2005. Mark regularly undertakes lectures and education on the subject and has a keen interest on the implications arising from section 69 of the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act 2013.
In recent years increasingly the primary focus of Mark’s practice is industrial disease litigation, Mark acts in a range of claims such as those arising out of occupational exposure to vibration (HAVS), noise induced hearing loss (NIHL), control of substances hazardous to health (COSSH), occupational exposure to manual handling (musculoskeletal claims), work related upper limb disorders (WRULD), occupational respiratory conditions and asbestos related claims.
Mark also practices in road traffic litigation and public liability claims with substantial experience in all liability disputes, claims involving credit hire and quantum disputes.
Mark has many years of experience in acting in civil actions against the police for both Claimants and Defendants including assault/battery, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, human rights claims and misfeasance in public office. Mark conducts civil jury trials.
Inquests - Mark also acts at inquests both with and without a jury had has experience of Article 2 inquests.
