Rebecca works extensively in the field of property litigation with a particular emphasis on landlord and tenant matters, both residential and commercial.

She is regularly in matters before the County Court, High Court, First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber and Upper Tribunal and has appeared in various appeal court cases.

Rebecca has undertaken a huge amount of work relating to service charge recovery. She has advised on matters relating to liability, construction of clauses, statutory bars, limitation and the implication of appeal court decisions. She has acted for landlords and management companies in trials in the County Court and High Court and declaratory proceedings. She has particular experience in relation to recovering possession of properties for landlords, in particular forfeiture of long residential leases as well as commercial tenancies. Rebecca also accepts instructions in recovering possession in proceedings commenced under S8 and S21.

Rebecca has represented landlords, management companies and tenants before the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) in cases relating to reasonableness of service charges, dispensation for consultation, appointment of a manager and breach of covenant. Additionally she has represented parties in appeals from the First Tier Tribunal to the Upper Tribunal including recent cases based ion section 20 consultation, limitation and breach of covenant.

Rebecca acts on both advisory and advocacy basis relating to issues of disrepair arising out of tenancies. She has particular experience in advising in relation to a tenant’s breach of the repairing covenant and consequent damages and forfeiture based on disrepair.

In addition to the above Rebecca accepts instructions in cases relating to right to manage proceedings, professional negligence relating to all of the above matters and property-related insolvency matters.

Rebecca has experience in technology and construction cases and represents numerous SMEs on an advisory and advocacy basis. Her commercial law experience includes regular instructions relating to breach of contract, actions for damages and insolvency.

Rebecca undertakes personal injury work including tripping claims, accidents at work and road traffic accidents.

Rebecca has extensive knowledge in the field of Criminal Law and is an experienced jury trial advocate who has represented clients in a full range of Courts, from young offenders in the Youth Courts to Appeals in the Court of Appeal. Rebecca regularly receives instructions in multi-handed drug and complex fraud cases and has been led by senior members of the Bar in numerous occasions in these areas including high cost cases if fraud.

Rebecca accepts instructions at all levels for both the Prosecution and Defence, having particular knowledge of Local Authority Prosecutions. She also has experience in issues relating to ‘fitness to plead’ under the Criminal Procedure (Insanity) Act 1964 and Hospital Orders under the Mental Health Act 1983.

Rebecca is also proficient in prosecuting and defending Road Traffic Offences and Ancillary Police Prosecutions including Sexual Prevention Orders, anti-Social Behaviour Orders, Football Banning Orders, Confiscation Orders, case detention and forfeiture applications.

Rebecca also accepts instructions for civil actions against the police.
