Govind is routinely instructed in complex and often protracted family law matters, for parents, children, step-parents, grandparents and other extended family members.

She is regularly instructed in public law cases involving allegations of physical, sexual and emotional abuse, many necessitating the instruction of expert witnesses and/or the involvement of specialist agencies. She considers herself as highly experienced in public law domain.

In the Private Law arena, Govind prides herself on being a skilful negotiator who has the ability to to assist parents in reaching an agreed outcome wherever possible. However, where a contested hearing is required, she is a strong and confident advocate who will forcefully argue the client’s case. In addition to contact and residence matters, Govind accepts instructions in all applications under the Children Act 1989 ranging from enforcement orders to Schedule 1 applications for financial provision. Govind has recently been involved in a number of applications for specific issue orders involving disputes over a child’s education, religious education and removal from the jurisdiction.
