Position

London and Oxford. Practice covers all areas of children law, including private and public law children cases and Family Law Act proceedings.

Career

Called 2013. Oliver has represented clients in the Court of Appeal, High Court, County Court and Family Proceedings Court in public and private law proceedings. He acts for local authorities, parents, grandparents and children’s guardians in this area. He understands that attending court can be a stressful and confusing experience. Therefore he seeks to reassure his clients and make certain that they understand the process every step of the way.

He has experience of cases involving physical and sexual abuse, domestic violence, neglect, drug and alcohol abuse, non-accidental injuries and emotional abuse. He has also been instructed by the Official Solicitor and has experience in cases where mental capacity has been a live issue.

Oliver has a busy private law practice. He has experience of applications for all types of orders under the Children Act 1989. Further, he is regularly instructed in cases involving substance misuse and allegations of abuse. Oliver believes that the most effective outcomes are achieved by combining forcefulness with courtesy.

In Family Law Act proceedings, Oliver regularly represents parties at both ex-parte and contested hearings.
