Educated in Scotland and at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge, Clive Blackwood was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple in 1986 and qualified as a mediator in 2006.

His practice at the Bar has consisted of general commercial work, briefed at all levels from County Court to the House of Lords (Supreme Court), including:

bankruptcy and insolvency, including all contractually based claims, particularly finance and credit transactions, agency, domestic and international sale and transportation of goods, supply of goods and services; banking and insurance, including securities, guarantees and indemnities, bankers’ and insurers’ liabilities and coverage disputes; company and partnership, including shareholder disputes, fiduciary and directors’ duties, group companies, directors disqualification applications and minority shareholders claims, partnership dissolutions, policy and succession disputes and accounts actions;
